The Stars and The Moons
The Stars and the Moons is art for activism
—a wish for all descendants of the Stars and the Moons, the tribes that come from the children of Abraham, to live in harmony and for the deep wounds carried across generations to be soothed.
It is a prayer for the Middle East, for the pain and suffering born of ongoing conflict and for the possiblity of individual and collective healing.
Each Jewish Star and Islamic Crescent Moon drawn is a prayer: a wish for safety, dignity, and healing for all who call the Holy Land home. Each symbol represents one individual—one life—belonging to these communities living in the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
The path forward may never be simple or clear. Still, we can ask ourselves what we truly wish to move toward. For me, and for many others, that is the healing of both peoples and the long, necessary work of repair between them, so that coexistence and harmony may one day become possible.
May it be so.

Artist Statement:
This project began in October 2025, a month that carries profound grief for both peoples, two years after a major turning point in a long and painful history of war. Creating this work has been one way of processing that grief for me and of calling in what I believe is possible: healing for all, without taking sides, without advocating for one people over another, but holding the truth that our histories and futures are deeply intertwined.
There are approximately fifteen million Jews and Muslims living in this land. This piece holds a prayer that one day each of them may live in safety and freedom, supported in their own healing journeys—journeys that, together, could usher in a new era for the collective.
